Learning to Skip

We are learning to skip because NSS will be participating in the Jump Rope for Heart in September. This is what a good skipper does....
1. We have to hold the handles in the right position.
2. The rope has to start behind our feet. Now we are ready to swing the rope.
3. We swing our rope down and then up over our head. We make circles with our arms.
4. We have to make sure that our rope does not tangle. If it does tangle, we try to untangle it ourselves.
5. We try to jump the rope with both of our hitting the ground at the same time.
6. We try to stand up straight when we jump and we bend our knees.
7. We try to keep the rope swinging. We keep trying to jump the rope.

8. We persevere - we keep trying until we get it right!!!

How many skips can you do in a row? Post a comment to let us know!

  3. Thank you for your comment Alison, we know that skipping is good for our fitness. Fitness bumps the blood around our body. It excises our legs and arms.
Jessica, you are clever. I wonder how many you will be able to do after you have practised?
