Terrific Temperatures

We have been learning about temperatures. Temperatures tell us if something is boiling, hot, warm, cold or freezing.

Miss Bradley asked us what the most 'freezing' or 'boiling' things or place we could think of. Have a look at the images we found that are freezing and boiling.

Winter Stories

We have been writing stories about winter because we are in this season right now. To plan our writing we talked with our buddies about how it made us feel, what it looks likes and how it effects the way we dress. We then used our bubble map to plan our writing. We put 'key words' into our bubbles that described winter. We the put these key words into sentences that made sense.

What do you think of our winter stories? Please make a comment on them, we would love to hear your feedback!

At discovery for the last four weeks we have been doing a fitness circuit. The different parts of the circuit are...high beam, hula hoops, balls, ribbons, tramp, ladder, hurdles, long mat, stilts and low beam.

Today, Miss Bradley asked us to put on our yellow hat to think about the good points about exercising.

This is what we think the benefits are...
"We puffed when we exercised. This is good for our heart." Caitlyn
"Our heart pumped the blood around our body quickly." Kaleb
"It was good because we got to try new things. I learnt to balance on the beam by myself." Emily-Kate
"I practised the tramp and I got better at jumping higher." Levi
"I got better at the ribbons." Eva

Learning to Skip

We are learning to skip because NSS will be participating in the Jump Rope for Heart in September. This is what a good skipper does....
1. We have to hold the handles in the right position.
2. The rope has to start behind our feet. Now we are ready to swing the rope.
3. We swing our rope down and then up over our head. We make circles with our arms.
4. We have to make sure that our rope does not tangle. If it does tangle, we try to untangle it ourselves.
5. We try to jump the rope with both of our hitting the ground at the same time.
6. We try to stand up straight when we jump and we bend our knees.
7. We try to keep the rope swinging. We keep trying to jump the rope.

8. We persevere - we keep trying until we get it right!!!

How many skips can you do in a row? Post a comment to let us know!
