Giraffes can't dance

Today we read the story 'Giraffes Can't Dance' By Giles Andreae. The junior team will be turning this story into a stage performance in week 7 this term.

We were interested in the different dances that the animals did in the story, so we looked at some youtube clips to see what they look like.
The warthogs did the waltz.

The rhinos did Rock n Roll.
The lions did the Tango.
The Chimps did the Cha Cha.
The baboons did the Scottish Reel.

Today was Right Choice Day. We came to school dressed as animal. We showed our parents or groovy costumes at the parade. We walked down the cat walk like our animal. Alex and Eva got a prize for best dressed animal in Room 21. Eva was a beautiful butterfly and Alex was a slow turtle. Jessica liked Alex's shell because it was made from a washing basket.

Mr Sharp, Mrs Hagan and some parents painted our faces. We also made some animals masks in Room 15. In Room 20 we made biscuits and watched Hairy Maclairy. In Room 21 we watched funny animal videos. We also drew some interesting animals.

At fruit time Harold arrived on a trailer. Mr Sharp was pulling Harold along on his quad bike. We got very excited!!! We finished right choice day with a shared lunch - yum yum!

Red Hat Thinking - What did you enjoy the most?

'I enjoyed making the biscuits - I made a rhino buscuit.' Levi

'I enjoyed seeing Harold.' Terry-Lee

'I enjoyed having a shared lunch.' Caitlyn

'I really enjoyed seeing the creative costumes!' Well done parents!
